**Short answer:** VectorFast Render ships eight official templates. Each has typed parameters with length limits, a fixed set of sizes, and English, Chinese, and agent examples. Every template page lists its parameters as the API validates them.

## Rules that apply to every template [#rules-that-apply-to-every-template]

* **Referencing a template.** Use the id (`launch-post`) for the current version, or pin the major version (`launch-post@1`). See [Caching and versions](/render/docs/caching#template-versions).
* **Sizes.** `width` and `height` must match one of the template's sizes; anything else returns `400 invalid_params`.
* **Formats.** PNG, JPEG, or WebP. WebP output is currently lossless and can be larger than PNG.
* **Text.** String parameters are trimmed. Values over a limit are rejected, not cut off; long values that fit the limit are wrapped and, where the layout needs it, clamped with an ellipsis.
* **Free text stays free text.** Dates, numbers, and deltas are rendered exactly as you send them; format and localize them before the call.
* **Chinese and other CJK text.** Fonts are subset per render; when text contains CJK characters, Noto Sans SC is loaded so every glyph renders.
* **Image parameters** (`coverImage`, `avatar_url`) are not enabled yet: remote image domains are not allowlisted, so leave them out and the template draws its fallback.
* **Emoji** are drawn from the brand fonts and may be missing.

## Get the schema from the API [#get-the-schema-from-the-api]

`GET /v1/templates/{id}` and the MCP `get_template` tool return the parameter JSON Schema (draft 2020-12), sizes, the English, Chinese, long, and minimal examples, and `agent_example`: a sentence someone might say to an agent and the `render` call it should become.

Custom templates are planned for a later release; the first version renders the official templates only.
